I am doing my best to MAKE new crafting supplies rather than BUYING new supplies, so I was delighted when Dips shared her easy peasy ribbon flowers. I had all of the supplies that she listed, so within a few minutes of reading the tutorial, I was the proud maker of a dozen of these little beauties. I used pearl headed pins and 1cm wide ribbon, about 20cm in length. I was able to bend the pin after the flowers were made, to give me something to use to secure the flower to the project.

I made cupcakes
Great workshop run by Viki from the Dragonfly Bakery here in Saltburn. Viki provided the cakes, icing, sprinkles and sugar paste, all we had to do was turn up and get busy. Not only was it a fun workshop, we got to eat the results, and they were DELICIOUS.
First we had a practice.
Look at the HUGE nozzle I used ... Viki prefers disposable icing bags.
We used cutters and stencils to make hearts and flowers.
Having a play with the sugar paste.
They tasted even better than they looked.

Journal your art CJ ... Serendipity
Am I allowed to say this ... this is my FAVOURITE CJ. My entry is above. I used an Octopode Factory image, the background is Distress Stains with a bit of Perfect Pearls rubbed over.
I am especially fortunate to have Juliewan posting to me, because I love her art (above)
Serendipity is owned by Shirley and this is the beautiful page she made (above)
Shirley was so creative in making her book, she sewed her own white pages into an old book cover ... gorgeous
Happy scrappers CJ ... Leo
Very much a traditional CJ, with a lovely selection of photographs. Here are my pages.
I was inspired by Shimelle's project for UKS here

Project runway CJ ... recycle
I never know what will arrive with the Project runway CJs ... they are all so different. This one has the theme recycle, and I knew just what to do. I'd got myself a pair of leather gloves in "Home Bargains" but they lasted only a few weeks so I made myself a bunch of leather flowers and machine stitched them onto a colour photocopy. I then sprayed it with Gimmer Mist (can't have too much sparkle).

Technique thursday
Loads of good stuff going on over at UKS and I somehow managed to miss this one here
I love using spray mists, and have a dozen or so masks, but had never thought of using chipboard as a mask ... and I have LOADS of chipboard!

Stained glass ... left panel
Finally started work on the left panel of my picture window. Its slow going ... the angles are critical and I'm a bit short of glass so I need to cut carefully.
Project runway CJ ... store bought
Not looking forward to this one, and I'm not that happy with my effort. Its not particularly store bought, its more like recycled, but its done and ready to mail.
Journal Your Art ... love
Yay, not only is this a new CJ but its an "art" CJ, so I get to play with inks and paints. My first entry is for Juliwan whose theme is "love". She made the gorgeous red entry (photo does not do it justice, its very textured) and mine is the glittery pink entry.
UKS Art Journey
Finally the push I needed to get me working on an art journal. I'd had the journal lying around for ages, and I added two inked slide mounts that I got in a kit (years ago). My first entry is a favourite photo of having tea at Betty's in Harrogate, it cost a fortune but it was so worth it just for the luxurious surroundings.

Dress form fun
Dress forms are all over the craft mags, and there are times I am tempted to invest in a cutter, but then I realize I can do just as well with a pencil and scissors! Browsing t'Internet for a "good" dress form shape, I stumbled upon this great blog and this clear and detailed tutorial. Isn't it lovely!

Cupcake ideas
Phil and I are attending a cupcake decorating class, so I have been looking for ideas to share at the class. This is a fabulous web site. They also have a facebook page stuffed with glorious photographs. This is a great idea for a party cupcake, or could even be a choc mousse.
